Frequently Asked Questions:
Are meals included in the price of the camp? No.
What is the closest Airport to Flagstaff? Flagstaff does have a small airport which accepts commuter flights from Phoenix, sometimes there are some great deals on these. Phoenix International is the closest major airport.
Is transportation provided from Phoenix International Airport to Flagstaff? Not officially, but depending on when people are flying in to Phoenix, we may be able to work something out where out-of state travelers can get a ride from Phoenix with a local camper. However, if this is not possible,www.arizonashuttle.com does have shuttles that run from Phoenix International to Flagstaff at very reasonable rates. Travel from the shuttle drop off station to the hotel is provided on the first day of the camp between the hours of 11am and 6pm and last day of the camp between the hours of 9am and 1pm. Be sure to let Arizona Shuttle know that you have a bike.
Can I ship my bike instead of fly with it? Yes, we are in the process of making arrangements with a local bike shop.
Do I need to bring my own workout nutrition? No. All workout nutrition for all training camps is provided by Hammer Nutrition, but you are welcome to bring extra if you would like.
Will I need to rent a car? It depends. All transportation from the host hotel to venues is included, plus transportation to dinner/lunch, etc. If you choose to stay at accommodations other than the host hotel, then transportation to the venues, dinner, etc. will not be provided. No exceptions. If you would like to have more flexibility and freedom in your stay, then we suggest renting a car. Keep in mind however, that there is very little down time and when we do have some down time, most people enjoy stretching, taking a nap, or working on their bike. Typically anything that anyone needs in town is taken care of on the way back to the lodge from dinner.
Are flights/hotel included in the cost of the camp? No. Flights and hotel are not included in the cost. If you are attending the 8 day camp, the Grand Canyon hotel is included.
What's the difference between the 8 day camp and the 5 day camp? Mostly, the trip to the Grand Canyon.
Can I switch around the dates so that I can attend a 5 day camp, but still attend the Grand Canyon? No, unfortunately, the Grand Canyon package is only for those attending the 8 day camp, on the dates specified above.
